Are you struggling in life?
Do you feel broken?
Are you searching for purpose or the meaning to life?
Does it feel like everything in your life is going wrong?
Are you lost?
Do you lash out at everyone around you?
Have you pushed everyone in your life away?
Has your skepticism reached an all time high?
Are you confused about who you are and why you're here?
Does the weight of the world feel like it's resting on your shoulders?
Are you stuck in an addiction and can't find a way out?
Have you tried self help books, watching motivational videos, or talking to therapists?
Do you feel like your tank is empty and you have nothing left to give your spouse and kids?
Have you tried to escape through social media or binge watching TV?
Does it feel like the anti-depressants have stopped working?
Does your job feel like a game of email ping pong where nothing ever gets accomplished?
Do you wake up every night worrying?
If you find yourself in any of these hopeless situations right now, I want you to know you're not alone. There have been times in my life where I could say "yes" to all of the above. Points in my life where I physically didn't feel like I could peel myself off my office floor and stand back up.
The reason I started this company and blog is for YOU. Believe me, I was perfectly fine with writing in my journal, keeping my life and my thoughts private. I was fine with knowing one day I would die and my daughters may sift through the pages for a chance to connect with me once again. The place I chose to pour out my deepest hurts, struggles, regrets, fears, hopes, dreams, gratitude, and life lessons. However, as I filled book after book, I realized that my story was being rewritten. Like the character in a movie, who's life has been beaten down, and then the course of life changes completely and he becomes triumphant by the end. It was at that point, I realized I couldn't leave these thoughts locked away, knowing that there may be other people struggling too. I wanted you to know that it doesn't happen overnight. I didn't want to wait until I had everything together to start writing out a "How To Guide." I wanted to write as I learned, so there's no doubt that wherever you are in life, it's not too late to change.
You may be asking, what if it doesn't change my life like it did yours? Well, in a world of challenges, including consuming laundry detergent pods, mixing random ingredients to make organic cleaners, and every possible miracle diet imaginable, I'll ask again, What Do You Have To Lose? My story isn't unique, because there are countless stories of lives changed the same way mine has. The problem is, we've become so polarized and skeptical in life that we shut it down immediately. However, we weren't meant to live in a broken world. That's not what the original design was. You and I have a purpose, but when we're not fulfilling that purpose it leads to brokenness.
So let's take it one step at a time and start from the beginning. No notes required. Just an open mind. You don't have to understand it. Don't try to figure it all out.
In the last chapter of the Bible, in Revelations Chapter 3, Verse 20. There's a beautiful picture of Jesus standing outside of a house, knocking on the door. Then it says, if you hear the knock, open the door, and let him in.
Have you heard Jesus knocking on the door?
If so, have you opened the door?
If you have not, please, say something like "Jesus, tear down the door and come into my life, forgive me for the things I've done wrong, set me free from my past, please come in and heal me."
Don't wait. Don't put it off. Don't say "I'll do it when I get home." Say it wherever you are and no matter the time. I promise it will be the greatest challenge you have ever accepted.
I want you to know that you are lovable, you are valuable, you are capable. There's nothing you have to do to earn God's love. You don't have to clean up your act before you start. You don't have to quit anything to get started. You don't clean yourself before you get in the shower right? The changes come over time and with God's help. Let Him carry the weight and help transform your life. What do you have to lose?
I am so grateful for you reading this, wherever you are. I hope it brings you hope, wherever you are in life right now. God has changed my life so much in one year that I had to start telling other people about it and I'm glad that you're one of them. It's so hard to describe the peace I now have through all the uncertainty life throws my way. All I know is, I want that for you too!
Until next time, God bless...
